Casting units are special conveyor systems designed for users to control the volume of ingot casting and poured products. Proses Makina’s solutions for precious metal recycling are based on the principles of maximum efficiency and sustainability. Proses Makina’s e-waste facility is using electrolysis method to separate precious metals and copper. Proses Makina’s engineer team developed a conveyor system for supplying the material to the electrolysis units. The conveyor system includes special anode molds and a robot arm for taking anodes from the conveyor line. Anode molds can be adjusted for customers’ requirements. Casting on the conveyor line can be done directly from the rotary furnace or, if supplied, from the casting furnace. There are a few heating torches at certain points of the conveyor line due to prevent the suddenly cool down. With the PCL automation system, when an anode mold is filled with material, the conveyor line moves forward and brings an empty anode mold to fill. After the casting operation, the molds that have cooled to a sufficient level are removed with the robot arm and ready to move into the electrolysis unit.
The overall surface quality should be smooth and free of protrusions or any cracks. Anode quality mainly depends on three main factors: equipment, consumption of operation, and material. Continuous homogeneous thickness can be achieved with Proses Makina’s anodes with the right pouring speed and impeller movement. Protrusions, fins, and cracks on the anode edges can be minimized. A fully automated process plays an important role in ensuring the best result.
