The electronic waste recycling process of Proses Makine is basically based on three main steps: Physical operations, Pyrometallurgical operations, and chemical treatments. Each step in the recycling process of e-waste has different characteristics. In the e-waste process designed by Proses Makina, top-blown rotary furnaces were preferred in order to remove the lead, tin, and other unwanted parts from the input material. The rotary furnace can be rotated by a friction drive Wheel system or a chain drive system, depending on size and the project’s requirements.

The temperature of the furnace is reaching over than 1700°C. So the mouth has to be small for keeping the temperature inside of the furnace. The conical cap was designed for some reasons. Those reasons are, keeping the temperature inside of the furnace, desired the level and shape of the flame, and easy casting. Minor changes can be made to the design and some adjustments can be made for the project’s requirements. Processtats and thermocouples are used for temperature and air control. A special chimney hood is prepared for exhaust gas from the furnace with the jut pulse filter system. Harmful gas emissions are reduced to the desired levels and materials such as lead and tin can be recycled again with the jet pulse system. Lead and tin must remove from the input material for improving the efficiency. Proses Makina’s rotary furnaces can be reach enough temperature for removing lead and tin. The rotation of the furnace improves heat transfer and accelerates the reactions involved in refining and smelting processes.

The output material which comes from the rotary furnace goes to the casting unit. There are specifically designed anode molds for the electrolysis process after the furnace. After the melting operation, the material can be filled into the anode cast with its tilting feature.
